Bali Trip (21/03 to 25/03)

INDONESIA: Bali trip –
(KUTA and LEGIAN, UBUD, NUSA DUA, TANAH LOT, ULUWATU)

Day 1 (21-03-09)

Wake up early in the morning at 6.45am. Arrive at the airport about 8.35am and check in our entire luggage (AK 900) and have our breakfast in “Marrybrown”. About 9.55am we board into the boarding area!!! Wow, very beautiful now in “AIRASIA” airport. 10.25a.m we took off from LCCT to DEPANSAR (BALI- Ngurah Rai International Airport). We reach there at 1.25 pm and we took a taxi to the hotel (MERCURE) that we are going to stay. The taxi fee cost us 50000 rupiah which is RM 15.63. When we are ready to follow the taxi driver to the car there were 3 guys helping us to take our luggage and we thought that it is the taxi service, but at the end when we reach the taxi the 3 guys showing us money sign in dactylology (手语). And we are still blur blur and ask “APA”, they say “TIPS TIPS” Haiz….. In the end we gave them RM5 and they were not very happy but still feel okay because for them that RM5 is about 13500 rupiah if you change in Bali.

TIPS: Please exchange your money in Malaysia because the exchange rate is higher than you change in the country that you are going.

Next,We took about 10 minutes to the hotel due to the traffic. When we reached the front security gate of the hotel we feel very surprise that they have to check the taxi before we enter the hotel but don’t know what the reason is? May be is because of the booming in 2002 and 2005.

Check-in to the hotel at 1.40pm but the room is not ready yet so we wait in the lobby for a cup of welcome juice but don’t know what flavor is that. After 30 minutes the receptionist came over and told us that our room is ready and we can go up now. Our room number is 350. When we go into the room, we realize that the room is very small for 3 of us but we feel very tired and have a nap. About 4.45pm we woke up and have a little walk around Kuta and Legian. We had our first dinner at Jalan Melasti. The dinner was delicious and we like it very much.

After dinner, we continue our walk and we took a big round back to our hotel. We reached our hotel about 10.30pm already, when we open the door of our room I realize that the additional bed is gone so we call to the reception and ask why is the bed gone and the receptionist told us that we had been move to another room which is bigger than the room we had previously. 2 bell boys came and ask us do we need a help for our luggage but we say very politely “NO, Thank you” because you have to pay them tips if they help. Next, We had been told by the first bell boy that our room had move to 206 but when we double check with the 2nd bell boy, he say it is 306 so we walk over to 306 but the key(card) cant open it and outside the door there was a card hanging on the door “Do Not Disturb”. We quickly walk away from the room and ask the bell boy again what is the actual number of our room and this time he say that is 206. We walk down to 206 and the door can’t open too so one of us went down to the reception and ask again. One of the receptionist went up to teach us how to open the door, at the end is because we dint slot the card right into the door that is why? But the room is a smoking room is so smelly so we told the bell boy again and we start to argue about it. At the end, we had been switch back to the first room again which is 350 for that night only and they will switch us to a bigger and a non smoking room on the next day.

Day 2 (22-03-09)

Woke at 7am and have our breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant. About 8.30a.m went down to the lobby to find our tour guide who calls MADE KUNAWAN. We have our conversation in his Toyota Innova about what we want to see in Bali. Made told us that he is going to show us 50% of Bali and we agree with him. Bali road is very small the maximum lane is 2 lanes but you know their driving skill is so scary. 2 lanes can become 3 lanes. I realize that Balinese like to horn and I think there are 80% of the vehicles are TAXI.

The first stop of the journey is to watch the “Barong & Keris Dance” in Batubulan. It is the most colorful dance in Bali that telling about a fighting of good and bad spirit. It cost us about 50000 rupiah, tiffany and I feel very boring in that show because we don’t know what is it talking about? Before our 2nd stop we usually were going to the bird park but it is so expensive it cost us about Rm 85 per person we were frighten by the price and at the end we dint even want to entre the bird park. 2nd stop is Tohpati- batik factory. We went to the batik factory to watch how people make hand-made batik. After that we went to Celuk to see gold & silver factory, see how the smith make silver ring, earring and so on. The next stop is to see RICE TERRACE in Tegallalang. On the way to tegallalang we will pass by Mas- Village of wood carving and Batuan- balinese painting.

About 1.15pm we reached Kintamani hill where we see the amazing view of BATUR VOLCANO and its lake while we are having our lunch at the local restaurant. After our lunch we took a lot of picture with the beautiful batur volcano as our background and we continue our journey again. Along the way to Ubud monkey forest we stop by Seribatu to see the spices farm in Temen Village. In the spices farm we saw Bali coffee, fruits and Vanilla plant. Does anyone know that Vanilla is not a tree it is a creeper or a vine (攀爬植物) crops? We had a cup of ginger tea for free.

We continue our tour to Monkey forest. We had been told that don’t ware hats and glasses because those monkeys like to snatch things from people. Along the way to the middle of the point a monkey climb on my cousin tiffany and she shouts very loud. The naughty monkey hug (Climb) on her because a key that hang on the hand bag is making noise and the monkey wanted to play with it but at the end the monkey dint manage to snatch it and we quickly walk away from the monkey. 2 naughty monkey saw us and they show us under 18 cant watch de action (MAKING LOVE or F*CK). It is cute but also disgusting. The last stop is The King palace in a place call Warung in UBUD also. Went in to the palace to see for a while and heard a friend talking about the famous pork under the tree. When we reach there they were move to their home so we went over to the home that is selling BABI GULING (Food). It was delicious and I found that it is so interesting to have meal in people house. Bali was called by people “Island of 10.000 Temples” (or "Island of the Gods") because every home there will be their own temple inside their house and the size of the temple is depends on the size of that family.

These were what we had done in day 2. We reached hotel about 8pm and we got our new and bigger room (247). Take our shower and sleep.

Day 3 (23-03-09)

Same like day 2 woke at 7am and have our buffet breakfast and start our 2nd day tour again. This time we are going to Uluwatu, Nusa Dua and Tanah Lot. The first place we go of the day is NUSA DUA for some water sports. We reached Tanjung Benoa Beach at about 9.45am. We have make up over mind to see fishes with a glass bottom boat, Turtle Island to see turtle and take picture with those pity and huge turtle and have a 15 minute Jet Ski. This three activity cost us US$ 100.

Next, Made our tour guide took us to see the most romantic and beautiful beach in Uluwatu which is call “Dreamland” but we are unlucky because the beach is close by the owner or the government not sure, so we just stop by outside and take a picture of the huge statue only. We proceed to the gate of GWK (Garuda Wisnu Kencana) which explain by our tour guide in 1996 Indonesia government wanted to build a big statue like New York statue of Liberty, but at the end because of 1997 economic is going down so the government stop the project and the statue is done only the head. We dint go into GWK because the entrance fee is very expensive and we continue to the next stop “Uluwatu Holy Temple”. This Uluwatu Holy temple is built on the 16th century that located on the cliff above the Indian Ocean. Uluwatu Holy Temple another name is called the cliff temple. The cliff was very high and beautiful and we have to wear sarung to enter as a respect. We took few pictures there and continue to the last stop of the tour for that day which is Tanah Lot to see the Temple Tanah Lot, the unique old temple that built on the huge rock beside the Indian Ocean and get a great opportunity to see the stunning sunset view. Along the way to Tanah Lot, we stop for a famous drink “Avocado juce” that people told my cousin tiffany which was very delicious and nice.

We reached Tanah Lot about 4.30pm and we are a bit late because that day Balinese is having a praying ceremony for their new year which is called Nyepi Day or Silent Day. We had been told by our tour guide on their new year is a day that they can’t eat, drink, work and even lights are not allowed to switch on. Tourist who came to Bali for holiday on that day can’t go out from the hotel and they have to stay inside their room(TV volume have to me lower down and curtain of the room have to be close up if they wanted to switch on the lights). Nobody is allowed to be on the beach, road and streets.

About 6.15 pm we watch the beautiful sunset and we went back to Kuta hotel. We have a swim in the pool of the hotel and I realized that my hair became a rock (The water in the hotel is salty) and I hate the feel of my hair. After our shower, tiffany and I when down to buy a cup of Bali Mcflurry but is not tasty like MALAYSIA.

Day 4(24-03-09)

The Shopping Day. We walk around poppies lane 2 and have our breakfast in the famous restaurant called Poppies Restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful and quiet. After breakfast we continue our walk to kuta square and on that street is all famous and branded things like billabongs, nike, reebok and so on.

After walking around Kuta square we walk in to Matahari Mall. This is the place I bought some souvenirs for my friends. Hope they like it although I know is little cheap but it is still my heart to them. And the last shopping mall is “The Discovery Mall” nothing special in there. There is a SOGO and Roti Boy in Bali haha is it great. Oh, there is carefour and Giant too in Bali.

In the middle of the night, tiffany and I feel hungry and we went downstair to tapau some food to eat. We had tapau 1kg of sweet and sour crabs, fried rice with egg and chicken wings it cost us only 55000 rupiah. Tiffany got her avocado juice again in the store. She likes avocado juice very much. It this trip she had drunk 5 cups of avocado juice.

If you like the SUN, I think you will like Bali. For me is only Okay but not realy like there because is hot. I am there for 5 days and those 5 days not one day or one drop of rain came down from the sky and you can imagine that how hot is Bali?

Day 5 –Last Day in Bali(25-03-09)

Woke at 9am, have our breakfast in the hotel restaurant as usual. After breakfast went back to the room to pack our things and wait for our tour guide Made Kunawan to fetch us to the airport (Ngurah Rai International Airport).

The airport is just like a shopping mall than a airport. I think not one of the airports in the world can be like this. Aunt reminds us to use all the small changes of our rupiahs and tiffany has her last cup oh Avocado Juice again and I have a tuna sandwich. The flight is early about half and hour and we arrive early in LCCT too.

This is all about my journey in Bali. I have a wonderful Trip in Bali thanks to my aunt and my cousin Tiffany. Who wants to join me next trip? Haha

My WEEK ENDS !!!! (Fun Fun Fun..) Kite lesson..

This week end , went over to aunt house .
We have a little cook at night , although it is not very very delicious but we cook out nice food for aunt to eat too.
We cook steam eggs, double can of sweet corn soup & a drumstick ,vegetable, chinese sausage .
OoOoOo.... almost forgot our desert har.... laichee pudding and mango konyaku.. yam yam..

it is so nice to cook by ourself i myself feel very nice and fun but dono my 3 cousin ..
we were in the kitchen for 4 hours just for the 4 minit eating... haiz.. and 40 minit wash... haha... but not us(aunt)..
After dinner , we play scrabble ( we find word from the handphone dictionary) clever rite? hehe

2nd day, I woke at 1 am i think... hehe..
Went downstair and saw aunt came back from chrurch waiting for the "brunch" mean breakfast+lunch...
And i went in to the kitchen and my cousin busy making her "CHEESE+TUNA+uncook tomato+sausage".
when then "FOOD= Sandwich" came out hahaha so funny (they use microwave to cook the bread lah)..
But still very delicious because i am hungry i guess.. hehe..
At least everything is clear(HABIS).. this time i am the 1 that wash all the dishes..
after that we all went upstairs for a rest..
Almost about 4.30pm aunt brought us to the kepong big park for kite flying .... hahaha
This kite flying game is fun but felt sad because the kite doesnt flew at all... haiz.... disappointed..
The time when i saw all the kites are flying in the sky it was so beautiful and something came into my mind..
Its was like if there is no wind at all the kite cant fly... just like if there is no dady mumy and i wont be here in this world..
Instead of that if we want to fly a kite we have to tie a string on the kite .. and this was like "friendship" we have to help each and other out ... then this is the real kind of life we have to go through...
Another things is ... if there is wind your kite can fly higher and higher, but there is no wind at all you the kite doesnt fly at all.... this show everybody luck and come and go easyly ...
Just a simple kite lesson teaches me lots of things but dono who can understand it but i do..
